On January 21, the Sejm presented plans for the Polish Pentagon, Poland’s future main defense complex.
The building is planned to be constructed in the shape of an octagon, according to Defence24.
Each part of the structure will be responsible for a separate area: the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and the Main Command of the Armed Forces, as well as the satellite intelligence center.
In addition, the complex will include the creation of protected shelters, an underground field hospital, and a road and rail tunnel center.
There are also plans to build shelters for 30,000 Warsaw residents and landing pads for heavy helicopters.
The goal of the project is to bring all key management and defense structures together in one place.
This should ensure a faster response to crisis situations and reduce the costs of maintaining individual institutions.
