Polish company FlyFocus has unveiled the unmanned helicopter KURIER. The platform is capable of carrying more than 200 kg of payload to support special forces units in combat zones.
The company shared the information with Militarnyi.
The project was developed by a Polish industrial and scientific consortium comprising FlyFocus, FusionCopter, and the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The program, valued at nearly €5 million, is funded by the National Centre for Research and Development under the supervision of Poland’s Ministry of Defence.
The unmanned aircraft is designed to deliver cargo to special operations units operating in challenging conditions. The system is capable of functioning without a GPS signal and in environments affected by electronic warfare.
The helicopter’s maximum takeoff weight is 600 kg, and its speed reaches up to 180 km/h. The flight endurance ranges from 3 to 10 hours depending on the configuration, and the aircraft can reach an altitude of up to 4,000 meters.
The program, launched in February 2024, is approaching Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL-6). At this stage, developers are no longer just testing whether individual components work in a laboratory, but are assembling a full-scale model (prototype) and testing it in conditions as close as possible to combat.
In addition to ground operations, the KURIER can be used for maritime reconnaissance, border protection, and monitoring critical infrastructure. In the future, the system is planned to be offered to other NATO countries and European customers.
