Poland’s Ministry of National Defense has purchased a portable 3D printer designed for building bunkers, confirming its commitment to enhancing military infrastructure.

Secretary of State Pawel Bejda announced this during an interview on the Polish radio program Rozmowa RMF. When asked whether the Ministry had indeed acquired such printers, Bejda confirmed the purchase.

He noted that the cost of such a printer is several million dollars.

The purchase of a portable 3D printer for building shelters is part of a broader project aimed at increasing the number of shelters for both civilians and the military.

The printer was acquired from the American company MIC Industries, which offers its Ultimate Building Machine (UBM) system on the market. This system enables the rapid construction of infrastructure facilities, including shelters, warehouses, and hangars.

The same type of printer is currently used by the U.S. Army to construct storage facilities for artillery, including M109 self-propelled howitzers and HIMARS rocket systems.

It enables the construction of hangars and shelters within just a few hours, depending on their size and overall project scope.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Baltic states and Poland are seeking funds to establish a defensive line along the border with Belarus.

In a joint document submitted to the European Commission, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland outlined details on strengthening NATO’s eastern flank.

The document also includes a cost estimate for this large-scale project, which, according to calculations by the four countries, amounts to €10 billion. The initiative’s implementation will require additional investments from other European nations.

The €10 billion amount covers not only the construction of border fortifications and military bases but also the procurement of weapons and the development of infrastructure to reinforce the 1,340-kilometer border—stretching from Finland through the Baltic states to Poland.
