Polish prosecutors have put Ukrainians Yevhen Ivanov and Olexandr Kononov, suspected of railroad sabotage, on the wanted list. A European Arrest Warrant has been issued for both of them.

Law enforcement officials have released full photos of the suspects, which is atypical and emphasizes the level of threat, according to the Polish media outlet RMF24.

The investigation links them to the explosive damage to the tracks in Mika on November 15 and the deliberate damage to infrastructure near Pulawy the next day.

The explosion damaged the rails near Mika. This created a risk of a large-scale accident.

Near Puławy, saboteurs damaged overhead lines. A window in a train with 475 passengers was smashed by a shock wave.

The prosecutor’s office claims that Ivanov and Kononov acted in the interests of the Russian special services, using explosives and conducting reconnaissance.

The court in Warsaw upheld the prosecutor’s request and approved the arrest warrants. Both suspects fled to Belarus.

The Polish police are calling on citizens to report information about the possible whereabouts of the wanted men by calling 47-72-376-57, 112 or by e-mailing the department.

The third defendant, Volodymyr B., according to the investigation, drove Ivanov to the site of the sabotage and helped in the preparation. He was taken into custody for three months.

Four other people were detained earlier. Three were released, one is suspected of concealing documents.

The investigation is ongoing. The prosecutor’s office does not disclose additional details.
