Poland Orders 56 Mobile Communication Centers for Wisła Air Defense

Poland’s Armaments Agency has signed a contract with Military Aviation Plant No. 1 (WZŁ-1) for the supply of 56 mobile communication centers (MCCs).

The MCCs will support the second phase of the Wisła air and missile defense program.

The agreement, signed on September 24 in Zegrze, covers deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2030.

Built on the Jelcz P112.57 10×10 truck chassis, the MCCs are fitted with antennas and were developed by the Polish defense industry using the latest domestic technologies.

“Their role is to ensure communication between the individual components of the Wisła system — particularly launchers, radars, and IBCS command cabins — as well as to maintain connectivity with higher-level national command systems,” the Armaments Agency reported.

The Wisła program is Poland’s effort to procure and integrate air and missile defense systems into a single network.

In its first phase, valued at about $4.75 billion, Poland received two divisions of Patriot PAC-3+ systems (two batteries each) integrated with the IBCS command and control system.

The second phase includes the acquisition of three additional divisions, or six batteries, of Patriot systems.
