Poland is ready to strengthen the training of the Ukrainian military and train two battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine monthly.
Wojciech Skurkiewicz, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Poland, announced this, Ukrinform reports.
This regards special group training, including training for sappers and medical courses, along with basic training for the military.
“The Polish proposal is distinguished by a declaration of group training… We will start training two Ukrainian battalions at the same time each month,” Skurkiewicz said.
The Deputy Minister pointed out that this training will be adapted to the actual needs of the Ukrainian military.
Wojciech Skurkiewicz noted that the mission of training the Ukrainian Armed Forces units should not be limited to training, but should offer the Ukrainian side a comprehensive package regarding the preparation of Ukrainian troops for combat operations.
It should also include the free transfer of equipment on which the training is delivered.
The training of Ukrainian units takes place through an EU mission, in which Poland was one of the organizers.
In particular, the headquarters of the mission was established on the basis of the 11th “Lubuska” Armoured Cavalry Division’s headquarters in the west of the country.
The Deputy Minister noted that Poland had already delivered 30 batches of military aid to Ukraine, including weapons and ammunition. The total value of the assistance provided by Poland is more than $2 billion.
As previously reported, Poland launched large-scale repairs of the equipment used by the Ukrainian military on the battlefield.
