Poland is extending and expanding the basic military training program for civilians.
This was stated by Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of Defense of the country.
The pilot stage of such training, called “Train with the Army,” lasted from October to the end of November.
The Head of the Ministry of Defense said that the first stage of the program has demonstrated huge demand among citizens, so now the number of places to participate will be doubled from 4 to 8 thousand. The new training was named “Train with the Army on Holidays”.
This time, training will last from mid-January to the end of February, when there are winter holidays in some regions of the country.
These exercises will be held in different parts of Poland: 31 military units are to be involved in the project.
Everyone aged 16 to 65 is invited to train. Minors are required to get the consent of their parents or guardians.
“Our aim is to teach basic skills to as many people as possible,” the Minister said.
Classes will last eight hours every Saturday. The training will be free of charge, and meals will be provided for participants.
During classes, military instructors will teach civilian weapons handling, survival fundamentals, and first medical aid.
It should be reminded that the Polish military has recently received the first elements of the GLADIUS unmanned strike and reconnaissance system. 2 launchers and 2 GLADIUS training unmanned aerial vehicles were delivered to the artillery unit.
This will allow the training of GLADIUS UCAV operators to begin before regular deliveries of elements of this system are established. The transferred launchers can be towed, they have a 4×4 wheel arrangement and are intended for GLADIUS training.
