Poland has started independently training pilots for the South Korean FA-50 light combat aircraft.

Defence24.pl reported on this.

The training of the first group of several pilots has already started, based on the Polish training system and national infrastructure.

Currently in its early stages, the training takes place at the 23rd Tactical Air Base.

The standard training process to be implemented in Poland will consist of simulator work – using simulators already available at the airbase – followed by in-flight training with the aircraft.

The training will be conducted under a new program developed domestically based on the experience gained.

Additionally, the media learned that the second group of Polish FA-50 pilots, who went to South Korea for training six months ago, recently completed their first solo flights on this aircraft. These flights took place in Poland.

They also reported that two groups of Polish technicians and aviation engineers are currently in Korea conducting inspections of the Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, which are to be leased to the Polish side.
