Poland has allocated a credit for joint production of weapons with Ukraine.

This was announced by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on the Telemarathon live.

“Poland has allocated credit for joint production of weapons by Ukraine and Poland. This is very important. We have components of Polish weapons that are already being supplied and are fighting in Ukraine. And we need more,” Zhovkva said.

Zhovkva did not specify what kind of defense projects would be implemented within the framework of cooperation.

He also added that on February 2, during a meeting with the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Polish Republic, the beginning of negotiation on security guarantees for Ukraine was discussed.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine use a large number of products of the Polish military-industrial complex.

The most famous Polish weapons in the arsenal of the Ukrainian military are Piorun MANPADS, Warmate loitering munitions, Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Krab 155mm self-propelled guns and Grot assault rifles.

Recently, Militarnyi reported that despite the statements of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Ukraine did not conclude a contract for the production of Grot rifles.

In March last year, former Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced in an interview Ukraine’s order of MSBS Grot rifles.

However, the minister then did not announce the amount of the order by the Ukrainian side of small arms or the cost of the contract.

The story gained an unexpected continuation when on January 15, 2024, ONET journalists sent a letter to the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, asking about the status of the announced March contract, the number of rifles ordered and their cost.

In response to the letter in a telephone conversation, a representative of the Ministry of Defense directed journalists with this issue to Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (Ukrainian analogue of Ukroboronprom), where they reported that neither Fabryka Broni as a manufacturer, nor Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa entered into agreements with the Ukrainian side on the sale of MSBS Grot rifles.
