A person was injured by the explosion of a PMN-4 mine near one of the settlements in the Kyiv region.

The accident happened near the border with Belarus.

Military servicemen immediately called the relevant specialists to the scene.

The victim received first aid and was taken to a medical center, where he was diagnosed with a mine blast injury.

During the inspection of the scene and the adjacent territory, a Russian-made PMN-4 anti-personnel mine was discovered.

This mine was adopted by the Russian army in 1990 and replaced PMN and PMN-2 mines.

It is designed for use against personnel.

A person was injured in the lower part of the leg (foot) during the explosion of the mine charge at the time of stepping on the sensor (the entire upper plane of the mine).

The mine has a plastic hull, which makes it difficult to detect during demining.

It is worth to stress that in the frontier regions bordering Russia and Belarus, the Belarussian regime continues restrictions, in particular, it is forbidden to be in forest areas.

In August of this year, Russian PMN-4 anti-personnel mines were also found in the Kherson region.
