The Finnish company Patria has completed the delivery of SONAC acoustic minesweeping systems to the Royal Norwegian Navy.
This is stated in the company’s press release.
The Patria SONAC system is a marine mine clearance tool that outperforms the most advanced mines thanks to its high-quality acoustics.
The device can generate high sound pressure in a wide range of frequencies (from infrared to ultrasonic), enabling effective simulation of any ship.
The system is suitable for both mine placement and target simulation, and provides the operator with real-time control of simulations.
During the mission, the operator selects the required acoustic signal from the signature library and starts the scan or, if necessary, creates a custom signal for acoustic reconnaissance.
The intuitive interface ensures smooth operation of the system during deployment, providing tools for managing, configuring and monitoring the status of the equipment.
In 2021, Militarnyi reported the supply of these systems to the fleets of Belgium and the Netherlands.
Recently, it was reported that Patria presented a line of three quadcopter-type drones: Patria SKY, Patria ONE, and Patria GEO.
The addition to the drone line was made possible by the acquisition of Nordic Drones, which was completed in the summer of 2024.
The drones are designed for both military and civilian use, and the Patria ONE model can be equipped with a warhead.
To ensure safe handling of ammunition, it is equipped with a three-stage operator protection system.
