The units of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade repulsed a Russian assault in the Kursk region.

The assault on the paratroopers’ positions took place according to the standard Russian scenario – without engineering reconnaissance and an organized offensive, which led to the loss of armored vehicles.

The enemy engaged two infantry fighting vehicles with troops inside, which were likely to break through to the positions of Ukrainian defenders and start a battle.

Aerial reconnaissance timely detected their movement across open terrain, which allowed the defenders to prepare to repel the attack.

After the successful destruction of the Russian infantry fighting vehicles, the troops from the combat vehicles began to hasten and seek shelter in the nearest forest.

Despite attempts to hide, the 82nd Brigade’s drones quickly detected the enemy and eliminated it.

The Russian assault was repelled at coordinates 51.15697, 35.38606, near Cherkaska Konopelka, the Kursk region.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the paratroopers of the 82nd Brigade had defeated an assault group of occupants who had tried to break through the village of Nikolsky on armored vehicles.

A Russian assault group consisting of a platoon with three combat vehicles and supported by a tank attacked the village of Nikolsky, whose defense the occupiers tried to break through for the second time in recent days.

The mechanized convoy, led by a T-80 with mine trawls, managed to approach the settlement, after which the lead vehicle was fired upon. The tank withstood several hits, but two BMP-3s were disabled near a water tower on the outskirts.

In addition, on January 21, Russian troops made another unsuccessful assault on the same settlement with several mechanized columns, losing 3 tanks and 7 infantry fighting vehicles in the battle.

The paratroopers, supported by the soldiers from the 47th Brigade, then managed to take out a company assault group led by tanks and knock out the enemy infantry: 35 infantrymen were killed and 62 others wounded.
