At the AUSA 2025 exhibition, General Dynamics Land Systems presented the Pandur SHORAD, the latest modification of the Pandur Evo combat platform in a close air defense configuration.
The vehicle is designed to support infantry units in maneuver operations, providing protection against drones, helicopters and other air threats in the combat zone, Spartanat reports.
The key element of the system is the RIwP (Reconfigurable Integrated Weapons Platform) turret manufactured by Moog. The turret allows for the integration of various types of weapons: 30-mm XM914 automatic cannon, Stinger, APKWS, Hellfire missiles, etc.
The power plant includes a 6-cylinder Cummins ISLe diesel engine with a volume of 8.9 liters, with an output of 455 hp. The ZF Ecomat 6hp 602S Plus transmission has 6 front gears and 1 rear, and a two-speed transfer case allows shifting on the go. The maximum speed is over 105 km/h, the range is up to 640 km.
The system can be quickly deployed by C-130 aircraft thanks to the RO/RO delivery capability. This makes it suitable for rapid deployment in crisis regions or as part of joint operations.
The Pandur Evo platform has armor protection according to STANAG 4569, which guarantees resistance to small arms and shrapnel.
It supports the installation of crewed and remotely operated combat modules, including 105-mm cannons, mortars and other systems. This allows the vehicle to be used as an air defense, fire support or special operations vehicle.
