Ukraine’s going to supply Mi-17 helicopter engines and spare parts to Pakistan.
According to The Economic Times sources, Ukraine will send aviation equipment to Pakistan expanding its defense partnership.
This agreement is a thank you sign to Islamabad for sending weapons and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help repel the invasion of Russian troops.
The value of this agreement is $1.5 million. According to journalists, the equipment for Pakistan should be supplied by the Ukrainian Motor Sich JSC.
Ukraine and Pakistan have maintained close military and industrial ties since the 1990s.
Over three decades, the arms trade between them reached $1.6 billion.
When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Pakistan sent military and humanitarian aid to support Kyiv’s ground forces.
Artillery ammunition was among the goods delivered by Islamabad through European countries.
According to the media, Poland allegedly signed a memorandum of understanding with Pakistani companies for the supply of military equipment to Ukraine.
In addition, The Economic Times reported that Pakistan has used a German sea port to transfer ammunition to Ukraine and has already shipped more than 10,000 missiles.
As previously reported, Ukrainian gunners started using Pakistani-made Yarmuk rockets.
The Ukrainian military uses Pakistani 122-mm shells for Soviet-made barrel artillery. In particular, 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer of the Ukrainian forces are equipped with Pakistani shells.
