The Pakistan Air Force has adopted the new JF-17 Block III multi-role fighters.
It is reported by EurAsian Times.
Citing an anonymous source of the publication, 12 fighters will reportedly operate one of the squadrons. Every single official photo was never published in the public domain.
The publication notes that this is the first batch of JF-17 Block III combat aircraft.
The new fighters are expected to replace the outdated Chengdu F-7 and Dassault Mirage-III in the Pakistan Air Force.
Earlier, Militaryi reported that a new modification of the JF-17 Thunder Block III single-seat fighter began to be mass-produced at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (ASD) for the Pakistan Air Force in December 2020.
These combat aircraft are planned to be built mainly for the needs of the defense of Pakistan within the framework of the joint Sino-Pakistani program.
According to media reports, the Pakistan Air Force can receive at least 50 JF-17 Thunder Block III fighters to strengthen its own combat capabilities.
This model is considered the development of the Pakistan-China JF-17 Thunder fighter.
The JF-17 Block III avionics includes modern controls and displays in the cockpit, and an active electronically scanned array radar in the nose part.
The fuselage of the combat aircraft is made with the use of composite materials, and the new Chinese WS-13 engines have significantly improved flight performance compared to older modifications of the JF-17.
JF-17 Thunder is developed by the Chinese company Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAIC) with the participation of Pakistan Pacific Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and is currently being manufactured in the interests of the Pakistan Air Force. The multi-purpose fighter is equipped with Russian-made RD-93 engines developed by JSC Klimov. Last year, it became known about the intentions to install an upgraded version of the engine – RD-93МА with improved performance.
