Pakistan has claimed to have destroyed components of India’s S-400 air defense missile system during hostilities.
This was announced by Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Aurangzeb during a report on targets hit in India.
The system components are located at an air base near the city of Adampur.
Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Aurangzeb presented satellite images showing that the air base was attacked in two places.
As a comparison, he provided satellite images of the same location before the conflict:
“Attacking the S-400 is easier than identifying it on the ground because it is a mobile system… So we were monitoring the situation through our satellite imagery long before the fighting started,” said the Air Vice Marshal.
He also said that the strikes destroyed a radar from the S-400 system and a control center.
While the resolution does not allow assertions that the positions of the anti-aircraft missile system or any specific equipment were hit, however ????????
Following the report, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to the Adampur air base to debunk the attack and spoke against the backdrop of a single S-400 launcher:
Thus, he confirmed rather than denied the damage to the components of the complex. After all, Pakistan claimed to have hit a radar and a command post, not a launcher, which can be up to 12 units in a regiment.
In total, India ordered five regimental sets of this system in 2018 for a total of about 5.5 billion US dollars. The first ordered systems began arriving in the country in the fall of 2021.
In the fall of 2024, it became known that Russia was delaying the delivery of S-400 air defense systems to India due to its own needs. Namely, the large number of system components destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
