The crash site of the Russian Shahed kamikaze drone in Romania has been identified.

GeoConfirmed OSINT analysts and the Twitter community conducted the investigation.

The investigation was conducted based on eyewitness accounts, a video of the drone crash on the Romanian bank of the Danube, and distinctive landmarks.

It turned out that the Russian drone detonated in the area of 45.328864, 28.803601 coordinates on an agricultural field.

The Romanian border village of Plauru is less than 1.5 kilometers away from the crash site.

Militarnyi reported that Oleh Nikolenko, Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared with reference to the border guards that Russian Shahed drones crashed and exploded in Romania.

“This is yet another confirmation that Russian missile terror poses a huge threat not only to the security of Ukraine but also to the security of neighboring countries, including NATO member states,” Oleh Nikolenko posted on social media.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry stated that the Russian attack did not “generate direct military threats to Romania’s national territory or territorial waters.”

In early August, it was reported that Russian kamikaze drones violated Romanian airspace.

At the time, the mayor of the Romanian Cetalkoi community in the border town of Tulcea reported that Russian drones had flown over the houses of local residents.

He also noted that according to local residents and Danube sailors, one of the drones fell in the Romanian forest, but its debris was never found.

After the Russian attack on the border port, the Ministry of Defense of Romania declared that there were no direct military threats to the country.

“As for the security situation near the borders of Romania, according to the assessments of the responsible structures of the Ministry of National Defense, there is currently no possibility of direct military threats to the national territory or territorial waters of Romania,” the Ministry claimed.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Romania strongly condemned the Russian attacks on the civilian population and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.
