One of the Russian cruise missiles shot down by Ukrainian air defenses was found in the Lviv region.
The Militarnyi reported about it.
The Operational Command West reported that the collecting wreckage of enemy weapons that fired on the territory of Ukraine is underway, ArmyInform reports.
This is one of the two enemy missiles destroyed in the air.
“As a result of the crash of the downed cruise missile, no one was injured, a fire broke out in the crash zone, which is currently being extinguished,” the statement said.
The cruise missile is one of the most difficult air targets. It moves at low altitudes above the irregularities of the relief, which complicates its early detection.
“Despite the aggressor’s significant superiority in forces and means, the air defense units of the Ukrainian Air Force continue to defend their homeland from air strikes, continue to destroy enemy aircraft and missiles,” the Operational Command West said.
As reported earlier, yesterday, Russian missiles hit the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in Lviv region.
In total, the Russian servicemen fired more than 30 missiles. Air defense units reacted. Several missiles were shot down.
The strike was carried out from the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. The aircraft took off at Saratov airport.
According to the Air Force Command of Armed Forces, the Ukrainian air defense forces hit four planes, three helicopters and an unmanned aerial vehicle of the occupiers on March 13.
