In the UK, new batches of missiles are being prepared for the Ukrainian military at the DM Beith.

The British Ministry of Defence officials told The Guardian.

The statement came amid plans by workers at Defense Munitions Beith to go on strike.

The Ministry of Defence said that there are contingency plans in place to ensure that the two-week strike, which will take place at the end of August, does not disrupt the work of the plant.

“These strikes will have no effect on our ability to provide capability to Ukraine,” said the British Ministry of Defence official.

Pre-planned contingency measures are being implemented at DM Beith to ensure the continued safe and compliant operation of the site.

The DM Beith ammunition production, modification, and storage facility supplies the armed forces of the United Kingdom and Ukraine.

The munitions stored at Beith include the Storm Shadow and Brimstone missiles that the UK arms Ukraine with.

Walkout

Workers at the Ministry of Defence’s DM Beith supply warehouse in North Ayrshire, Scotland, will strike over a wage dispute.

More than 50 members of the Scottish union GMB will strike for two weeks starting August 21 after four days of targeted strikes failed to resolve the dispute.

The union said that workers are outraged by the inequality in pay at the base, with managers and skilled workers receiving bonuses while unskilled workers do not. The strike is supported by 93% of the union’s members, and GMB warns that it could lead to disruptions in supplies.

The union claimed that the pay gap between DM Beith’s skilled ammunition collectors and their unskilled counterparts, who support them and prepare equipment for transport, had tripled to £18,000. The union said that due to the discrepancy in bonuses, workers not involved in ammunition collection earned less than many supermarket workers. Skilled workers signed a petition in support of their colleagues’ actions.
