The Russians have integrated a Chinese 16-element CRPA antenna against Ukrainian electronic warfare into the Shahed.
This was reported by radio technology specialist Serhii Flash.
Currently, Russian barrage munitions are being prevented from carrying out their missions by Ukraine’s powerful electronic warfare (EW) systems.
To counteract this, the Russians continue to look for GPS antennas with better electronic warfare suppression capabilities.
Initially, the occupiers installed Chinese round CRPA antennas with 8 elements, which were discovered in January.
Then the Russian 12-element Kometa CRPA antenna was found for the first time a month ago.
The Kometa receiver is designed to protect navigation signals from intentional and unintentional interference to stabilize satellite navigation system signals.
Recently, Ukrainian experts discovered a 16-element CRPA antenna from China in a Russian Shahed.
The CRPA antenna is a special navigation antenna that is capable of providing high-quality positioning of a drone in space even in the face of active radio interference by the enemy.
Such antennas detect false electronic signals and help to ignore them.
As a result, the EW does not affect the drone’s navigation, and it flies to the target.
Such antennas are widely used by the Ukrainian and Russian military as part of reconnaissance and attack drones at the operational and strategic levels.
