The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine will be audited by independent NATO auditors.
The initiative to conduct the audit was put forward by the agency’s Supervisory Board, as reported by Taras Chmut, head of the international Come Back Alive Charitable Foundation and a member of the Defense Procurement Agency’s Supervisory Board, on his X page.
The audit will be conducted by an independent NATO body—the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN).
The audit will take place in several stages and will cover all key operational processes.
These include procurement planning, contract signing, and monitoring of contract execution.
Internal management procedures and the control system will also be reviewed.
According to Chmut, the goal is to comprehensively identify weaknesses in the agency’s operations.
In addition, the audit is intended to identify areas for further development.
Engaging IBAN will ensure the independence of the assessment and allow for a comparison of the agency’s work with NATO practices.
Funding for the audit will come from NATO programs aimed at improving the effectiveness of defense institutions.
The need for such an audit has been discussed by the Supervisory Board since late 2024, and its implementation has now reached the practical stage.
As a reminder, it was recently reported that the Defense Procurement Agency DOT will now provide logistical support to the State Transport Special Service.
