According to people familiar with discussions between the G7 and NATO members, some Allies may start training Ukrainian troops outside the country to support Ukraine with newer weapons.

The main goal of this assistance would be to gradually transition the Ukrainian weaponry toward NATO-type standards.

The military and political leadership of Ukraine insists that the help of the allies is needed right now since the count is not even about weeks, but about days.
