NATO member states are increasing the presence of ships near energy infrastructure facilities.
The defense strengthening comes following damage to Nord Stream pipelines, according to Defence24.
Thus, the Norwegian Navy announced that NATO countries have increased supervision over offshore platforms operating in the North Sea.
The Norwegian Ministry of Defense tweeted a photo taken by a Norwegian submarine periscope. It shows the Norwegian KV Sortland Barentshav-class patrol vessel, which is used by the Norwegian Coast Guard.

Later, the German Navy published a photo of the F123 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern frigate in the Sleipnir gas field in the North Sea.

“We have increased our presence in Norwegian waters and are sailing with our allies to ensure the safety of Norwegian oil and gas platforms,” the German Navy stated.
The publication emphasizes that such statements and actions are a signal to the Russian Federation about NATO’s readiness to counteract accidents, as on the Nord Stream pipeline.
Recall that German investigators found that a series of explosions on the bottom of the Baltic Sea along the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 underwater gas pipelines were the result of sabotage.
The investigation team has been unable to conclusively link the alleged diversion to any individual, but some German officials say detectives are working on the assumption that Russia is behind the explosions.
In addition, France, Germany and the United Kingdom will help the Allies in protecting facilities in the North and Balinese Seas after sabotage on the Nord Stream pipelines.
