NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg states that Western allies plan to supply Ukraine with one million drones by 2024.

The NATO Secretary General made this statement during his speech in Brussels.

“A group of allies is going to join forces and give Ukraine a million drones, and 20 NATO allies have also agreed to create a coalition for demining,” Stoltenberg said.

Most likely, this refers to the Coalition of Drones initiated by Latvia, the launch of which was reported by Militarnyi on January 18.

The UK, Sweden, and the Netherlands have already joined the Drone Coalition. The purpose of this association is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a large number of drones for various purposes.

Militarnyi previously reported that Latvia and the UK will start supplying FPV drones to Ukraine as part of the Drone Coalition.

“FPV drones have proven highly effective on the battlefield since Russia’s full-scale invasion, providing their operators with situational awareness to target enemy positions and armored vehicles. As part of the coalition, the UK will scale up and streamline the West’s provision of “first person view” (FPV) drones to Ukraine,” the statement reads.

This is the first project to be launched from the £200 million ($250 million) drone package that the Prime Minister announced in January 2024.

The UK will order thousands of FPV drones for Ukraine, including from UK manufacturers, providing a boost to the industry and delivering on the Prime Minister’s priority to grow the economy.

It was also reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive more than one million Ukrainian-made FPV drones.

This was stated by Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Fedorov also added that the state delivered 50 times more drones in December 2023 than in all of 2022.
