The North Atlantic Alliance has transferred 65 ambulances to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a comprehensive assistance package.

The NATO Representation to Ukraine informs about this.

The vehicles were reportedly forwarded in response to a request for Ukraine’s urgent needs.

The vehicles were donated in the Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) framework for Ukraine. The reviewed CAP was adopted at the Madrid Summit 2022.

At the Vilnius Summit in July 2023, the Allies agreed to transform CAP into a multi-year program for Ukraine and to continue providing assistance to Ukraine in the short, medium, and long term.

At the Washington Summit 2024, the Allies announced a pledge of long-term security assistance to Ukraine and intend to provide €40 billion in funding over the next year.

Ambulances for the State Border Guard Service from NATO

As previously reported, the hospitals of the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine have received military ambulances as part of a comprehensive assistance package from NATO.

The project was managed and executed on behalf of the North Atlantic Alliance at the Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency (NDMA).

These buses are equipped with modern medical technology and equipment.

They allow resuscitation teams to work autonomously with three seriously injured patients while simultaneously transporting four more lying-down and eight sitting patients under medical supervision.

Ambulances from Belgian volunteers

At the end of September, it was reported that volunteers from Belgium and Ukraine donated six ambulances to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The official handover occurred in Lviv, where the Charitable Foundation “Mercy and Health” transferred the vehicles and other medical equipment.

The donations included medicines, medical equipment, and specialized first-aid kits.

This assistance aims to strengthen medical support for the military on the front line, which will help evacuate and provide more effective assistance to the wounded.
