On the morning of Saturday, October 7, a massive missile attack was launched on the central and southern regions of Israel from the Gaza Strip.

In particular, explosions sounded in the cities of Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Yavne and Kfar Aviv.

At the same time, militants of the Palestinian paramilitary group Hamas carried out an incursion into the country.

The country’s authorities urged the residents of border settlements not to leave shelters and safe places. Medical care is provided to the victims.

“Hamas carried out a combined operation involving missile attack and terrorist infiltration into Israeli territory. The IDF will protect the residents of the State of Israel, and the Hamas terrorist organization will pay a very high price. We urge the public to follow the instructions of the Homefront Command and remain close to protected areas, and ask residents of areas bordering Gaza to stay at home,” the IDF said in a statement.

Militants also attacked and penetrated the Israeli military base. This is evidenced by messages on social networks.

In response to the attack, the Israeli military began striking targets in the Gaza Strip.

“The IDF declares a state of readiness for war. On the Gaza side, a large-scale missile attack on Israeli territory is underway, and terrorists enter Israeli territory through various points of entry,” the IDF said in a statement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called an emergency meeting of the security cabinet.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also approved the conscription of reservists in accordance with IDF requirements. In addition, he declared an emergency within a radius of 80 kilometers from the Gaza Strip.

The head of the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Mohammed Deif, released a video message announcing the launch of an operation against Israel.

In response to the attack on the country, the Israeli army launched ‘Operation Iron Swords’ in the Gaza Strip.
