In the first three months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense authorized more than 80 samples of domestically produced weapons systems for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Havrilyuk stated this.
The largest group in this list is ammunition of various types and calibers.
The second group in terms of the number of weapons system samples approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January-March this year is UAVs.
In addition to modernized drones designed for aerial reconnaissance, there are new drones of various types: both FPV kamikaze drones and reusable strike UAVs designed for combat use at various distances.
The third group is ground robotic systems and electronic warfare (EW).
Lt. Gen. Ivan Havryliuk wrote more about the results of Ukrainian arms production in his column for Interfax.
The list of domestically produced weapons systems that the Ministry of Defense codified (authorized for use) in the first quarter of 2024 also included armored and special vehicles, a 120-mm mortar, communications equipment, and vehicles.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, robotic platforms of Ukrainian production can perform a wide range of tasks.
“They serve as fire support vehicles (they can carry combat modules, such as machine guns and ATGMs, to hit enemy targets), evacuation vehicles for the wounded from the battlefield, or perform logistics tasks, delivering cargo to the front line,” Ivan Havryliuk said.
Lieutenant General noted that among the domestically produced EW equipment recently approved for operation are tactical-level systems designed to create a local “dome” to cover the combat positions of Ukrainian troops or military equipment.
In February, the Ministry of Defense issued certificates of registration for 20 foreign-made small arms samples. The registered weapons included, in particular, the Colt assault rifles and the PZD 556 machine gun.
