The Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 500,000 first-aid kits.

The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported on this.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Nataliia Kalmykova, the bulk of this aid is currently coming from Germany, and the first 50,000 kits are already in the Defense Ministry’s warehouses.

“By changing the property write-off system, simplifying it to three simple and straightforward steps instead of twenty, we managed to restart the process of efficient use of what is stored in military warehouses,” Kalmykova said.

In particular, the innovation should significantly simplify the process of supplying medical equipment to the front line.

“Previously, the loss of a first aid kit resulted in an internal investigation, otherwise it was impossible to get a new one, despite the fact that the Ministry of Defense had one in stock, but now it is enough to report to the commander, who will submit a request to the finance department. The lost first aid kit will be written off, thus freeing up space for a new one to be received from the warehouse,” Kalmykova explained.

The Deputy Defense Minister also added that in addition to the first aid kits from Germany, the Ministry of Defense has another 300,000 kits in storage.

She assured that after the change in the write-off system, tactical medicine equipment is already being actively transferred to units on the front line that need them.

On December 15, Militarnyi reported that the Ministry of Defense had simplified the procedure for writing off medical equipment.

This referred to writing off first aid kits, bags, and backpacks, which used to be considered inventory. Therefore, the write-off process was extremely difficult and often impossible.

As a result, military units could not order new first aid kits. After all, according to the documents, the military units were fully stocked.

From now on, a serviceman who loses or uses a first aid kit, bag, or backpack during combat or while performing other tasks must verbally or in writing inform his unit commander.

The commander then draws up a report and attaches an excerpt from the combat log or a final combat report.
