The Dutch government will provide additional €400 million of support to Ukraine.
The RTL Nieuws news service reported about this on April 11.
These funds will complement the €2 billion that the Netherlands previously allocated to help Ukraine in 2024.
In addition to a €400 million increase in aid in 2024, Ukraine will be able to count on the Netherlands’ support next year.
For this purpose, the current government of the Netherlands, which will soon resign, has budgeted €1.5 billion to support Ukraine in 2025.
In early March, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte signed an agreement on security cooperation between two countries.
The agreement confirms the decision of the Netherlands to provide and expand assistance to Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. The document, like other recently signed agreements, is valid for ten years from the date of its signing.
In particular, the agreement stipulates that the Netherlands will provide €2 billion as part of military aid in 2024.
As part of its military assistance, the Dutch government has allocated over €150 million for the purchase of air-to-ground weapons for F-16 fighter jets to be delivered to Ukraine.
The Netherlands will also purchase reconnaissance drones for Ukraine worth €200 million. This is being done in a consultation with other partners and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukraine will also receive fourteen rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs), five militarized river patrol boats, and three CB90 combat boats.
In addition, the Netherlands allocated €250 million for the Czech initiative to order a large number of artillery shells for Ukraine.
