The Security Service of Ukraine is behind the drone attack on a power substation in the Kursk region of Russia.
This is reported by Suspilne, citing sources in the special service.
The attack on the Russian substation took place on the night of September 29. Important enemy military facilities were connected to it.
Five settlements in the Kursk region of Russia were cut off from electricity as a result of the drone attack.
The sources in the Ukrainian intelligence service released a video of the drone attack.
“Thanks to another SSU special operation, the invaders are beginning to realize that blackout is not just a foreign word, but a reality that is already on their doorstep. If Russia continues to attack our infrastructure facilities, it will receive even more “explosions” in response,” the source said.
The SSU noted that important Russian military facilities were connected to this substation.
The moment of hitting the substation in the Kursk region was caught on video.
On the morning of September 29, the governor of the Kursk region of Russia, Roman Starovoit, reported a massive nighttime drone attack. He stated that explosive devices had been dropped from a drone on a substation in Sloboda Belaya, Belovsky district.
According to the governor, as a result of the attack, one of the transformers caught fire, and five settlements were disconnected from power supply. Local social media report that the substation continues to burn. Relevant videos have been published.
It should be noted that the Russian Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine allegedly attacked Russia with UAVs at night. The Russian Ministry reported that air defense destroyed 11 drones, including one over the territory of the Kaluga region and 10 drones over the Kursk region.
As previously reported, the SSU warned Russia that Ukraine would take mirror actions if Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector continued.
