In the course of military action against the invasion forces of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian military destroys enemy military equipment.

The fighters of the Defense Forces are capturing a variety of enemy equipment and weapons.

Some of this equipment was damaged during the battle, which calls for the involvement of the Maintenance Battalion of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Battalion’s representatives note that the newest weapons of the Russian army, captured on the battlefield, are steadily arriving at the service of the Ukrainian army.

Maintenance Battalion servicemen have already restored dozens of cars that are now engaged in the fight against the Russian invaders.

In particular, restored are various armored vehicles – tanks, BTR-82Аs, IFVs, along with the rather rare captured 120-mm Nona-SVK artillery system on the chassis of the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier.

“We captured these vehicles (Nona-SVK – ed.) near the village of Husarivka, Kharkiv region, which was liberated in March. This vehicle had a jammed engine and lacked some spare parts. However, soon she will be fighting against her former owners,” said Dmytro, Maintenance Battalion Commander.

The unit is repairing the medical MT-LB and Mobile Command Post based on the BTR-80.

“We have already worked with two of these (MCP – ed.). They are all different. For example, there was a generator plant on top of this one. There was no such equipment in previous versions. They had completely different antennas,” Dmytro emphasized.

2S23 Nona-SVK is a Russian battalion self-propelled artillery system, the primary weapon of which is a 120 mm mortar gun.

The self-propelled gun is designed to strike manpower, artillery and mortar batteries, missile launchers, armored targets, and command posts.

It is stated that the system is capable of aiming without prior preparation with indirect and direct fire. The Russian military has approximately 40 units of such self-propelled guns in its service.
