Paratroopers of the 82nd Brigade and soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade jointly defeated a large assault group of invaders in the Kursk region, the remnants of which were killed in the woods or committed suicide.

The 82nd Separate Mechanized Brigade’s press service released the footage of the battle.

The Russian military command resorted to the already unpopular tactic of attacking with several heavy armored convoys in the Kursk sector, which the Defense Forces repelled with units from two brigades at once.

“The units cooperated – our infantrymen did their work, the artillery worked with the assistance of our reconnaissance company, a battalion of unmanned aerial vehicles operated FPV drones, and pilots of mechanized battalions bombarded the enemy using dropped ordnance,” Magura’s fighters described the support of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade’s paratroopers.

Together, the Ukrainian soldiers managed to defeat the company’s tactical group, destroying three tanks and seven infantry fighting vehicles. The enemy suffered losses in personnel: 35 infantrymen were killed and 62 others wounded.

The armored assault group was fully equipped with new equipment, such as BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and T-80BVM tanks. The latter served as the column’s lead vehicles and carried electronic warfare stations to protect against drones, in addition to minesweepers.

Given the abundance of equipment, the choice of this tactic after prolonged infantry assaults may be explained by the recent supply of “fresh” equipment from Russian armored companies.

The defeat of the attack and heavy losses on the approach to the Ukrainian positions severely damaged the morale of the enemy infantry: when drones came into view, one of the surviving soldiers simply laid down on the ground and shot himself.

The reconnaissance UAV footage shows that the infantryman was not wounded, so this decision can only be explained by a deep level of demoralization, fear, and the lack of evacuation by neighboring units.

This was another case of suicide on the battlefield, the number of which among the Russian military has already exceeded 200 cases in the statistics of the OSINT researcher GloOouD.

It is reported that Russian soldiers are instructed to commit suicide by self-detonation or a shot to the head, even when they are being taken prisoner.
