BRDM armored scout cars were sent to the military from the Lviv region.
The sending took place on the initiative of the Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration and in cooperation with the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
Armored vehicles will receive soldiers of the 53rd Separate Rifle Battalion from the Lviv region.
In total, two BRDM armored scout cars and three pickups were sent.
The Battalion is reportedly currently in Bakhmut.
“Let the vehicles serve reliably. Guys are in Bakhmut now. Take care of yourself. Beat the invaders. So that no one will ever dare come to our land with war,” said the Head of the Lviv region.
Judging by the photos, the soldiers were sent a civilian version of the combat vehicle, in which they modified the hull and installed a wide windscreen.
Weapons from the modified version were removed. Standard BRDM-2 is equipped with a twin installation of KPVT 14.5mm and PKT 7.62mm machine guns.
In peacetime, BRDM-2 have some demand from civilians who buy and rebuild them.
Recently, in February, volunteers in Odesa repaired the civilian version of the BRDM-2, which was transferred to the needs of the military.
Before the full-scale invasion, the owner went fishing on the BRDM. The lack of any instructions for it complicates the process of restoring the BRDM.
