The Ukrainian military received 14 armored ambulances from Luxembourg.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium and Luxembourg reported this.
The vehicles will soon be sent to the front line, where they will fulfill their primary mission to save the lives of soldiers.
The project was implemented within the framework of the “Ukraine is calling” initiative, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium and Luxembourg. Its goal is to collect € 10 million to purchase 112 ambulances and fire trucks.
British Venari Group conducted the armored vehicle modification.
Already in 2022, Venari Group, the oldest and largest British ambulance manufacturer, started the production of the STANAG 4569 standard armored ambulances to rescue wounded soldiers and civilians from the war zones in Ukraine.
At that time, the CEO of Venari Group promised to work in three shifts and to produce a sufficient number of vehicles for Ukrainian needs.
According to him, almost every employee of the enterprise wants to make a personal contribution.
It is worth noting that Pinzgauer Vector armored vehicles were chosen for re-equipment.
Pinzgauer is a multi-role universal vehicle manufactured by BAE Systems Land Systems.
They can be used both for the transportation of personnel and for medical purposes or for the transportation of ammunition. Pinzgauer is equipped with additional modular armor. The vehicle provides protection against small arms fire, artillery shells, and explosions.
As previously reported, after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Luxembourg set up a two-man team of in-house arms dealers.
