Lockheed Martin is experiencing strong demand for its PAC-3 MSE surface-to-air missiles and is prioritizing the rapid expansion of its production capabilities.

According to Hartpunkt media, the company aims to manufacture 750 PAC-3 MSE missiles annually by 2027.

The aim is to exceed the government-agreed contract for 650 missiles by 100 units by 2027. These missiles are used in the Patriot system.

The head of the PAC-3 MSE and THAAD programs is negotiating with potential European partners regarding the production of PAC-3 missiles in Europe.

In particular, battery supplies were discussed with the company Diehl, but technical details have not yet been disclosed. Potential partners may include Denmark, Poland, or Spain.

According to Reynolds, it is possible that the launch containers will be manufactured in Poland, while the Spanish company Sener could supply the actuators. Sener already produces similar components for the IRIS-T missile and is involved in the production of the GEM-T missile, which Raytheon manufactures in Germany.

Whether an additional production line will be established outside the U.S. depends on the decision of the U.S. government, Reynolds emphasized.

Additionally, Lockheed Martin is significantly increasing production of tactical surface-to-surface missiles – ATACMS, PrSM, GMLRS, and Javelin.

Specifically, HIMARS production has been increased from 48 to 96 units per year, while the annual output of guided rocket projectiles has reached 14,000 units.

Back in May, it was announced that the German corporation Rheinmetall and the American company Lockheed Martin agreed to expand their cooperation to boost missile and ammunition production in Europe.

The companies signed a memorandum to establish a European Center of Excellence for the manufacturing and distribution of missiles and missile systems. This initiative aims to strengthen Europe’s security and strategic autonomy.

The center of excellence, led by Rheinmetall, will operate primarily in Germany and other European countries.
