The Liutyi attack drone struck a logistics terminal in Tatarstan, which is associated with the production of Shahed.
The target was located deep in the territory of Russia in the village of Kzyl-Yul and was of strategic importance.
According to Dnipro OSINT analysts, the affected facility was being built as a large hub for servicing large-scale commercial flows.
The terminal was used by companies that supply their products and industrial components to Russia. Some of them were intended for the production of Shahed kamikaze drones at a plant in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
Alabuga is a key Shahed production center in Tatarstan that is rapidly expanding both in terms of output and infrastructure. The plant has attracted cheap labor, including students and foreign workers.
According to CNN, from January to September 2024, Alabuga assembled more than 5,700 Shahed-136s, twice as many as in the same period a year before.
The increase in production rates is due to the expansion of production facilities and the construction of new workshops. Ukrainian intelligence officers have repeatedly pointed to this facility as a key target.
The released videos show that the terminal was hit by a Liutyi attack drone.
This drone is designed to carry out deep strikes and is capable of traveling more than 1,000 kilometers in the air, penetrating deep into enemy territory.
Liutyi is equipped with a warhead that weighs 50 kg in the basic version and 75 kg in the upgraded versions. This provides a significant strike power against strategic targets.
The combination of range, accuracy, and power has made the Liutyi one of the key tools for hitting important targets in Russia.
The attack on the logistics hub in Tatarstan is another example of the effectiveness of long-range unmanned systems in modern warfare.
The Security Service of Ukraine said that the attack drones belonged to the SSU’s Special Operations Center “A”.
“The drones struck a logistics hub where Shakhtys, as well as foreign components for them, are stored ready for use,” the SSU said.
A fire broke out after the explosion. The distance from Ukraine to the point of impact was about 1300 kilometers.
“The Shahed storage warehouses, which the enemy uses to terrorize Ukraine every night, are one of the legitimate military targets,” the SSU added.
Recently, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine also conducted a sabotage operation in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, killing and wounding dozens of Russian soldiers.
