A delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania visited the training center for drone operators in Ukraine and got acquainted with the capabilities of Ukrainian air and ground drones.

The Lithuanian delegation to Ukraine was headed by Minister of National Defense Laurynas Kasčiūnas.

He toured Ukrainian fortifications, visited the UAV Operator Center, and met with representatives of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy.

“It is very important for us to see how Ukraine applies fortification and countermobility measures in practice, how it works, and what it looks like. We are currently creating countermobility parks in Lithuania,” Kasčiūnas said.

According to him, these measures should block and stop the actions of hostile states in the event of aggression against Lithuania.

During the visit to the UAV Operator Center, the Lithuanian delegation talked to Ukrainian specialists who shared their experience of using drones on the battlefield.

The Ukrainians demonstrated flights of various types of drones. Lithuanians also note that the Ukrainian military widely uses unmanned ground vehicles for various tasks, such as mining or transporting the wounded.

“It is important to recognize that the technology and capabilities of drones are a prerequisite for modern Armed Forces. We cannot lag behind, we must be at the forefront of technological transformation and changes in warfare,” said Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas.

Lithuanians also noted that Ukrainians were working on integrating unmanned ground vehicles and unmanned aerial systems into a single real-time control center for all unmanned systems on the battlefield.

As Militarnyi previously reported, the Lithuanian Armed Forces have added classes on the use of drones and countering them to the basic training course for military personnel.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine tested Lithuanian-made FPV drones in conditions as close to combat as possible. It was organized so that Ukraine could choose the products that best meet the needs of the Ukrainian soldiers.
