Lithuania will provide rehabilitation and medical treatment to the Ukrainian servicemen wounded in the war with Russia.
European Pravda reported about this with reference to LRT.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas stated that Ukrainian servicemen who had been wounded during the full-scale war with Russia will arrive in Lithuania within ten days for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
“The Ukrainian side will send servicemen to the Druskininkai rehabilitation center in ten days,” Anušauskas said at a news briefing on Friday.
However, the Minister refused to specify the number of servicemen from Ukraine.
The servicemen will be hosted by the Rehabilitation Center of the Military Medical Service of Lithuania, which is located in the Lithuanian resort town of Druskininkai.
Ukrainian servicemen had already undergone rehabilitation there in 2016.
According to the Lithuanian Minister of Defense, the rehabilitation center will be expanded to help the Ukrainian servicemen.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Lithuanian Armed Forces recently announced that they are preparing a new batch of military aid to Ukraine.
These vehicles are a part of Lithuania’s continuous help to Ukraine in resisting Russia’s large-scale aggression.
Ukraine will receive 20 M113 tracked armored personnel carriers, 10 military trucks, and 10 SUVs for sappers.
Previously, Lithuanian citizens have joined forces to buy an unmanned combat aerial vehicle for Ukraine in honor of its fight against Russian aggression. Over €5 million was raised in just three and a half days.
