Lithuania will allocate €35 million to purchase radars and mine clearance equipment for Ukraine.
In addition, Lithuania plans to supply the Ukrainian Defense Forces with more than 5,000 domestically produced drones by the end of the fall.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite stated this in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
She also said that a new military aid package from Lithuania would arrive in Ukraine in early September.
It will include 10 short-range air defense systems, 30 “anti-drone missiles” and other equipment, as well as weapons and ammunition.
“In addition, we [the Lithuanian government] are allocating €35 million for the purchase of radar and mine clearance equipment,” Šimonite saidю
She also added that Lithuania hoped to provide Ukraine with more than 5,000 Lithuanian-made drones by the end of the fall.
According to Šimonite, the Lithuanian government has pledged to spend 0.25% of GDP annually to help Ukraine.
“My government will not only ensure this, but will exceed this plan,” the Lithuanian Prime Minister emphasized.
Last week, Lithuania handed over a new military aid package to Ukraine, which is necessary to counter the Russian invasion. Wheel loaders, trailers and folding beds had been sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said that in August, Ukraine would receive a total of 14 M113 tracked armored personnel carriers, short-range air defense systems with missiles, and drone jamming systems from Lithuania.
In addition, electronic warfare systems, all-terrain vehicles with spare parts, cargo trailers, 20-ton telescopic loaders, wheel loaders, rifles, ammunition, smoke munitions, gun accessories and spare parts for weapons will be provided to the Defense Forces.
