Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania Arvidas Anushauskas said that Lithuania is ready to transfer Ukraine lethal weapons.

“I will not now answer directly, this is a question of a multilateral agreement, since several states are involved, not only the donor and recipient of arms, but also the manufacturer and supplier,” said Anushauskas

Anushauskas told about Lithuania’s readiness to hand over lethal weapons to Ukraine at a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.

Recall, on December 3, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the number of Russian troops that can be involved in the escalation is estimated at 94,300 people.

On December 18, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stressed that Kyiv needs the help of the West in the form of not only defense weapons, but also offensive, as Moscow has plans to resolve a large-scale war.

Assistance from Lithuania

In September, it was reported that Lithuania plans to transfer equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the form of body armor and ballistic belts worth more than 677 thousand euros.

On December 8, Lithuania handed over the first part of military assistance to Ukraine – body armor and ballistic belts.

Lithuania also plans to give Ukraine a light attack aircraft L-39ZA. According to the project prepared by the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, the aircraft should be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for free.

In December 2021, Ukraine should receive Lithuanian-made anti-drone systems to combat unmanned aerial vehicles.
