The Kyiv community donated 550 Mavic 3T drones with thermal imaging cameras and 11 electronic warfare systems to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The Telegram channel of Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported on this.

“I visited our defenders in Donbas, where the situation is extremely difficult, and in the Kupiansk sector. I took and handed over 550 Mavic 3T drones from the Kyiv community (these are UAVs that work effectively at night, helping soldiers destroy the enemy),” he said.

In particular, the 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade “Rubizh” of the National Guard of Ukraine received assistance in the form of 220 Mavic 3T drones, 10 electronic warfare systems and anti-drone rifles.

The 5th Separate Assault Brigade received 250 Mavic 3T drones, and the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade received 40 Mavic 3T drones.

The 23rd Infantry Battalion also received 40 Mavic 3Ts.

Assistance from Kyiv

This is not the first large batch of Mavic 3Ts that the Kyiv community has donated to the Defense Forces. At the end of August, it was announced that 1,310 MAVIC 3T drones with thermal imagers had been delivered.

On September 19, it was reported that the community of the capital had handed over a thousand FPV drones to soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

“In total, with this batch, since the beginning of this year, the 3rd Brigade has received 2,000 FPV drones and 410 Mavic 3T UAVs from Kyiv, which the city recently handed over. During the full-scale war, Kyiv has allocated almost UAH 600 million from the city budget to equip the 3rd Assault Brigade,” said the mayor.

In addition to purchasing aid for money from the city budget, the Kyiv administration is also actively seeking assistance from foreign partners. Thus, under a contract signed in September 2023 between Quantum-Systems CEO Florian Seibel and the mayor of Kyiv, 100 drones of various types will be donated.

The first batch of 28 Trinity drones was handed over to the border guards on July 31, 2024.

Thanks to the high-quality optics provided by the Japanese RGB camera Sony RX1, the drone operator can detect targets at long distances and with excellent resolution.
