Kvertus has developed an adaptation of pickup trucks with an AD KRAKEN-U+ powerful electronic warfare system.

The Ukrainian company said that the first such pickup truck was made for journalists from the Netherlands.

Journalists traveled to Ukraine to report on the fighting in the Kherson region.

To ensure their vehicle’s safety, they enlisted a Ukrainian company to equip their pickup truck with drone protection.

The company selected its most powerful portable electronic warfare device, the AD KRAKEN-U+, and modified it for roof-mounted installation on the pickup.

The system control was moved to the cabin. To power it, a 300Ah battery was installed in the trunk.

“This allows the system to operate for more than 6 hours,” the company stated.

The AD KRAKEN-U+ multiband high-power electronic warfare device is effective against FPV drones in the 420-460, 700-1050 MHz frequency bands.

It is also capable of counteracting drones that drop ammunition (Mavic, low-cost Autel models).

It has a block of directional antennas and a remote control with a cable length of 20 meters.

It is stated that the effective range of AD KRAKEN-U+ reaches 2000 meters. The deployed weight is about 40 kg. Continuous operation time reaches 12 hours with a one-hour break.

In September, the Ukrainian manufacturer of electronic countermeasures, Kvertus, presented an airborne version of the Azimuth electronic reconnaissance system.
