A member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commando unit recorded video of an abandoned V-150 armored vehicle previously used by fighters of the Syrian Turkmen Brigade (STG) during recent clashes near the Tishrin Dam.
This marks the first known instance of a Kurdish–Arab group capturing a V-150 armored vehicle. The incident was reported by Woofers, which also released the footage.
The V-150 Cadillac Commando is a U.S.-made wheeled armored vehicle developed by Cadillac Gage in the 1960s. It belongs to a family of light armored personnel carriers alongside the V-100 and V-200 and was widely supplied to American allies during the Cold War.
The vehicle weighs approximately 7 tons, has a crew of three, and can carry up to eight personnel. Equipped with a V8 gasoline engine, it can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h and features a 4×4 wheel configuration, providing high mobility on both roads and rough terrain.

The V-150’s armor, 6–10 mm thick, provides protection against small-arms fire and shrapnel, while its armament varies by version—from 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns to 20 mm automatic cannons or even mortars.
Thanks to its modular design, the vehicle was used as an armored personnel carrier, command vehicle, reconnaissance platform, or anti-tank platform.
The V-150 was widely exported to countries in the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Turkey received these vehicles for its internal security forces and the army, and they later ended up in the hands of various armed groups in Syria.
