The Ukrainian company Kolos Defense has unveiled the Eclipse, a fixed-wing drone designed to intercept enemy kamikaze UAVs.
The system has already been tested in combat, where it proved capable of effectively destroying targets, the company told Militarnyi.
Eclipse is equipped with an electric motor and a high-explosive warhead, allowing it to engage Shahed-type drones at distances of up to 7 meters. It can reach speeds of up to 250 km/h.
The development focuses on automating the process of tracking and intercepting aerial threats, as well as ensuring stable communication in environments affected by electronic warfare. A key feature of the system is its integrated homing capability, developed in partnership with international specialists.
The drone uses a communication system that can reliably switch across frequencies ranging from 400 to 1200 MHz to overcome interference. The manufacturer is currently producing several versions of the aircraft with different communication types; in particular, small batches equipped with LTE-based communication are undergoing military testing.

Thanks to its beacon-based functionality and triangulation method, pilots can obtain precise positioning of the aircraft regardless of terrain.
According to the manufacturer, this system provides more accurate coordinate determination than standard radar data.
Each aircraft is currently made up of 40% Ukrainian-produced components. If needed, and with corresponding price adjustments, this share can be increased to 70% Ukrainian and 30% European parts, ensuring complete independence from Chinese supply chains.

The system has a combat-proven operational range of up to 40 km and a ceiling of 5,000 meters. The most distant target was successfully destroyed at a range of 33 km, while video signal quality and control remained stable.
Eclipse is equipped with an automatic target detection and homing system developed jointly with the French company Alta Ares. The technology, called Pixel Lock, features three operating modes to maximize operator effectiveness.
In the first search mode, the aircraft remains under manual control while the system automatically marks potential targets on the screen, indicating the probability of detection as a percentage. The second mode allows the operator to lock onto a selected object, opening an additional zoomed-in window for identification.
After confirming the target, the pilot activates automatic mode, in which the aircraft independently guides itself toward the object. The final decision to detonate the warhead remains with the operator and is carried out manually.
