In Turkey, the take-off of the Bayraktar Kizilelma jet unmanned vehicle underwent testing for the first time.

Footage of the test of the aircraft, developed by Baykar, was shown by Seljuk Bayraktar, chairman of the company.

“Bayraktar Kizilelma – there is not long left,” Bayraktar wrote, stressing that another critical superiority in the development of the aircraft has been passed.

He recalled that the project for the development of the Kizilelma unmanned aircraft was carried out entirely at the expense of Baykar, and expressed confidence that this device would revolutionize Turkish aviation.

Bayraktar notes that Kizilelma is an important link in Turkey’s national technology development initiatives.

The new Bayraktar Kizilelma jet supersonic stealth deck UAV is being developed as part of the MIUS (Muharip İnsansız Uçak Sistemi) project.

Engine

In 2021, BAYKAR ordered АІ-322F and АІ-25TLT jet engines from the Ukrainian Ivchenko-Progress state enterprise.

In September this year, tests were carried out on an integrated engine on a jet drone.

According to the information provided by the company, the UAV will have an operational altitude of 12,000 m, a takeoff weight of 5.5 tons, a payload of 1.5 tons and a load capacity of ammunition of 1 ton.

While the MIUS-A would be close to supersonic speed with the Ukrainian АІ-25TLT engine, the MIUS-B would be supersonic with the Ukrainian АІ-322F and the Turkish TEI TF-6000 engines. The MIUS-B will have a 2.5 times more powerful engine, which significantly distinguishes it in technical characteristics from the MIUS-A.

It is assumed that the UAVs of the MIUS project will be launched from the TCG Anadolu (L-400) universal landing ship without the help of the ejection system.

At the end of August this year, BAYKAR completed the assembly of the second prototype of the Bayraktar Kizilelma jet strike drone. The first sample was completed in June 2022. The first flights of both prototypes are expected in 2023.
