The 13th Khartiia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine deployed a communication system in difficult terrain using equipment from the HIMERA company.

To achieve this, they used autonomous B1 repeaters and IP-connected R1 repeaters.

A representative of the brigade shared this during a presentation on the communication system updates, according to a correspondent of Militarnyi.

According to the serviceman, the equipment previously available to the unit did not allow them to establish the necessary communication. To solve this issue, they used a mesh solution, which enabled them to create coverage remotely.

The repeaters were deployed remotely using drones.

The system operated for three weeks, having been maintaining communication with frontline units. The battery charge lasted that long, and if recharged, the system will continue to function.

The details of the operation and the system’s layout are not disclosed for security reasons.

HIMERA 2.0 Update

HIMERA has released the 2.0 update for its tactical radios. Key improvements include extended communication range, enhanced voice quality, and reduced noise levels. Among the new features is support for a portable repeater with remote control and update capabilities.

Additionally, the information interface on the voice communication screen of the G1 PRO radio has been improved.

“For me, it’s very important to see that we are not only providing better tools to our defenders, but also entirely new capabilities through our communication system. We are already demonstrating the effectiveness of modern solutions that adapt to terrain and operational needs in combat conditions,” said Misha Rudominski, CEO and co-founder of HIMERA.

In the HIMERA communication ecosystem includes:

  • G1 PRO portable radio – over 48 hours of autonomous operation;
  • B1 autonomous repeater – ready for immediate use;
  • E1 internet extender – provides high bandwidth even in the most challenging terrain;
  • R1 repeater with internet relaying capability – enables wireless configuration of the entire network.

As previously reported, the HIMERA G1 PRO radio has been integrated with the Kropyva situational awareness system. Data transmission is carried out via the Teneta TNT digital modem, which was developed to ensure reliable information exchange between Kropyva system workstations in critical areas of the front line.
