Kazakhstan started the interagency Beket-2022 training near the border with Russia. The military from the Territorial Defense Brigade of the Kostanay Region was called up to work on the combat maneuvers.
The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan announced this on the evening of September 20.
The Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, where the exercises will be conducted, borders the Orenburg, Chelyabinsk, and Kurgan regions of the Russian Federation, writes Ukrainska Pravda.
The Kazakh Ministry of Defense notes that conscripts registered as part of the territorial defense brigade of the Kostanay region were called for training.
They undergo classes in the main subjects of combat training.
Comprehensive training will be carried out in two stages, and its active phase began on September 21.
Under the approved Beket-2022 training plan, within five days, representatives of state and law enforcement agencies should work out various scenarios for overcoming crisis situations and countering external threats.
Participants of this comprehensive training should ensure interagency coordination, work out elements of various departmental forces interaction, check the “state of mobilization readiness of authorized bodies and territorial defense units,” etc.
It was previously reported that Kazakhstan will produce Anka multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) together with the Turkish company.
On May 11, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Kazakh and Turkish parties.
Cooperation with the Turkish manufacturer includes joint production of Anka UAV systems in Kazakhstan.
The Memorandum also provides for the creation of a technology transfer and maintenance center for Turkish drone systems of the Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii AŞ (TUSAŞ) aerospace company.
