The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine “Gusi-9” group together with the servicemen of the 15th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade spotted and hit the Russian 48Ya6-K1 “Podlet” radar station.
This was reported by the press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Strike was inflicted on the antenna feeder system and the diesel-engine generator that provides the radar with electricity.
The enemy used a radar station to detect and transmit target coordinates to Russian S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
Judging by the characteristics of the interface of the kamikaze drone, the Polish-made Warmate unmanned complex was used for the strike.
It is not the first time that Ukrainian Defense Forces have hit a radar station of this type. As previously reported, on November 1, 2023, Militarnyi reported the hit of 48Ya6-K1 in the Belgorod region.
Tests of the Russian 48Ya6-K1 Podlet radar started in 2010. It is designed to target designation for S-300, S-400 SAM and similar.
The first deliveries of systems to the Russian Air Defense Forces began in 2015. First of all, it is used to detect cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and other aerial systems.
“Podlet” is a centimetre band radar that can simultaneously detect up to 200 targets.
The range of this radar is from 10 to 300 kilometers. The maximum altitude of target detection reaches 10 kilometers.
The speed of the detected targets can reach up to 4400 kilometers per hour. The detection zone covers 360 degrees in azimuth and from -2 to +25 degrees in angle of site.
The set-up/tear-down time of the radar components is 20 minutes.
The 48Ya6-K1 includes an antenna post and mobile command post and a mobile generator; all components are based on KAMAZ wheel chassis.
