KAMAN Corporation will manufacture new components for the HAWK anti-aircraft missile system, which will then be shipped to Ukraine.
The U.S. Department of Defense reported that Kaman Corporation had received a $14 million contract to repair the missiles.
The work will be performed at the corporation’s facility in Middletown, Connecticut.
Insider journalist Colby Badhwar said that the agreement covered the supply of 500 missile components.
“This is in support of the refurbishment of HAWK missiles in the Department of Defense inventory, for provision to Ukraine,” said Colby Badhwar.
The corporation’s missile cladding is handled by Kaman Fuzing, which serves missile and bomb systems for many American and international customers.
“Kaman Fuzing ensures a high standard of quality by managing every detail of the project through production and delivery,” the corporation said.
In particular, Kaman Fuzing manufactures fuzes and fuses for missiles and bombs.
The department said that they were engaged in missiles:
In April, it was reported that the U.S. Department of State had decided to sell Ukraine maintenance services for MIM-23 Hawk air defense systems.
Through the FMS sales system, Ukraine will be sold $138 million worth of equipment to maintain and modernize its HAWK air defense systems.
In this way, the United States maintains the operational capability of HAWK air defense systems that protect the Ukrainian people and critical infrastructure.
