On the night of March 20, explosions occurred in the north of temporarily occupied by the Russians Crimea.

Eyewitnesses shared the news and posted videos from the city of Dzhankoi on social media.

It is noted that local residents spotted the drone before the explosion. Also, the sound of drone engines and small arms fire could be heard in the night sky, probably from the Russian invaders trying to shoot down these UAVs.

Eyewitnesses reported a powerful explosion that occurred near the railway station in temporarily occupied Dzhankoi.

The published video footage from local residents clearly shows a drone flying in the sky and the sound of its engine. Later, the shooting begins, and after a few seconds, a loud explosion is heard, and a cloud of black smoke and fire rises into the sky. The man behind the screen says that the explosion occurred near the train station.

Subsequently, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the consequences of the explosion on the captured by the Russians peninsula. They note that the valuable weapons of the invaders were destroyed.

According to Defence Intelligence, the Russian Kalibr cruise missiles were destroyed during their transportation by rail.

“The mysterious explosions continue the process of Russia’s demilitarization and prepare the Ukrainian Crimean peninsula for de-occupation,” Ukrainian intelligence officers added in the statement.

Kalibr is a family of Russian surface-to-surface cruise missiles. Anti-ship and anti-submarine versions of the missile are also reported. These cruise missiles can be launched from submarines and surface ships. According to the information available in open sources, the firing range of Kalibr missiles against ground targets is 2,500 km.

After this event, the wreckage of the drone that attacked the railway in temporarily occupied Crimea was published on social media. It should be noted that the Russian invaders are using the transport infrastructure of the occupied peninsula to provide their troops with material and technical means to continue a full-scale war against Ukraine.

As previously reported, on March 4, a powerful explosion occurred near the Hvardiiske air base in occupied Crimea. The invaders claimed that their anti-aircraft defense shot down a drone moving toward the airfield.

The aircraft fell on the territory of the garden society, a few kilometers away from the runway. A huge crater with a depth greater than a person’s height was formed at the place of the fall.
